I believe that JV marketing is one of the best ways to drive traffic to your site. The only thing that holds you back is your imagination. The time in which it is most important is when your site is new, as you want to start off strong. If there is one thing that gives us an advantage over other Internet Marketing businesses is that because we will have so much to offer. That we will be holding all the cards, we will be able to create many different scenarios, that will bring us much reward.
I will tell you this it's already started, I have already formed a JV deal with a potential Core member. He is from Coastal Vacations, Now I have not mentioned this yet, but as the site grows I intend on creating a bonus program. A awesome one, it will set us apart from anyone else, and will bring more members then.... This will be the thing that makes us huge, really it will bring the "Gurus" to their knees. Sorry back to the deal, I am going to start a Bonus program, that will probably be built around recruiting members. We will run a contest/ bonus program that will provide members with Free Vacation Packages. Yes they will come from Coastal, Yes theres more to the deal, but I can't reveal that now, we need to concentrate on getting the site live, and creating the Get Paid to Participate Program.
But JV deals will play a big role, another deal I have been considering, I don't have anything in the works, yet just an idea, I mentioned this one on the blog, is that when we go live, we will have two Forums. one private (this one) and one public. This depends on how big this Forum gets but what I was thinking is that we maybe able to cut a deal with a present Forum owner to allow us to link to their Forum temporarily to give us some credibility. In turn we could give the Forum some good content and some traffic, Now for the cool part this could work in our favor Virally, as new members join our site they would be using both Forums, it just might pull traffic both ways. Like I said this is an idea. We may decide this does not work for us, It will depend on how many people are involved at Launch.
This is how it will work on the website. someone comes up with an idea, we kick it around if we determine if it's viable we will run with it. If it is not we trash it. So let's kick this one around a bit. What are your thoughts.

Neal, I believe as you do that JV partnerships are important to any new large scale venture. The Coastal one sounds great. and I am looking forward to hearing more about it.
I am not sure about the idea of two forums however. I wonder if we would run the risk of causing some confusion amongst not only members but the general public as well. I think there would have to be very distinct separations and uses to avoid this issue.
I fully agree on the necessity of bringing traffic and see that it could work virally to link with the owner but I do have that concern for this reason: another project of mine became lost in the shuffle a couple years ago when I linked with the owner of another site to help promote both. I am not saying that this would happen, I am just saying let's be cautious in this area.

Well I agree with you on the JV deal with another Forum Owner, The more I put some thought to that, the less I like it's benefit. Your right it could go either way, it's probably to much of a risk to test it out for launch.
Now for the reasoning on using two Forums, The Public Forum will give Visitors a chance to ask questions, about the site and what we doing. So they will have a better Idea of what we are all about. They will get to interact with the current members. It will also be part of our public Market Place. If we want to get into freelancing or just allow members to Advertise there
we have that option.
There will be a second Private Forum that will be used for the members to post and hash out their ideas. Make Freelance deals with other members, and our daily business activities. We want this to be private. The two will be separated enough in content no one should get confused.

Ok Neal I see now where you are coming from on the two forum idea. With what you are looking at I agree it could be a viable and useful idea. I just didn't get it the first time around.
