Your Vision The Foundation For Your Internet BusinessDo you have a vision?
So your ready to start your internet business. Where does one start? With a carefully chosen product, a good idea, a well thought out business plan? Yes these are all important aspects that have to be carefully considered. But lets start at the very foundation. Its like building a house. You can have the best materials to work with, a beautiful house plan, all the money and skills ready to complete your project, but if you don’t start with a solid foundation and you just start building on a sandy beach, what kind of house would you end up with? It would be unlikely that you would even be able to finish your house before it would have serious structural problems most likely ending in collapsed ruins.
Of course your internet business is not going to need concrete footings and the like but it will need a solid foundation none the less, your footings or foundation so to speak, is your vision. The very first place to start is to ask yourself, what is my vision or my purpose in starting my home business.
It is vital that we realize how important our vision is to our success. Think about this, if we start into a project, task, or business and we say “I’ll just see how it goes.” How do you think its going to go? Projects and businesses don’t do the work, they don’t go anywhere on their own, in fact they don’t do anything, people do, we are the ones that breath life into them, we are the ones who do the work. If we start a business and we say something like, I’ll try this for six months and if it hasn’t made me this much money I’ll quite it. What kind of results do you think this kind of thinking will bring in six months? That right, it will be time to quite.
It is amazing just how many people start out their businesses with this kind of thinking, they start with no vision at all, just a lets see how this goes attitude, or even worse a vision of their own failure. No doubt starting an internet business without a solid foundation of a clear vision is exactly why so many people fail to see success in their chosen business. A sad fact is that if we think we are going to fail we are right that is exactly what will happen. But the opposite is also true, if we think we are going to succeed then we will. Our foundation for success starts in our own minds, how we think, what we want for ourselves and what we envision. Once we get this vision set this is what we will create either good or bad.
Exactly what having a vision does is it sets up your big picture for you in your mind. It lets you know where you are going, and why you are going there. You can then set up your course of step by step plans and continue to use your vision as you take each step toward your ultimate vision of success. A great clear vision will undoubtedly change the course of your life.
What about the size of your vision? There is a direct link between the size of your vision and the size of your business. If you choose a small vision, then you will end up with a small business. If you choose a huge vision you will see huge success.
How is it that a vision can give you so much power? How can it be linked to either your ultimate success or failure? This is what your vision will do for you, it will get you through your difficult times. It will keep you growing and progressing. A vision will give you something for you to use your quality of persistence on. It keeps you motivated and interested, moving ahead, without it you will flounder not sure of where your headed.
When we look at very successful people, we don’t often think about the obstacles and setbacks that they overcame before they reached their great successes. Take for example Michael Jordan, did you know that he was cut from his high school basketball team? What kind of vision do you think he had for himself? It must have been a really big and powerful one, big enough that he wasn’t about to let anyone not even his high school basket ball coach decide for him that he wasn’t going to be a great basket ball player.
If you know exactly what you want to accomplish then you will look at problems as challenges, you will see failures as temporary setbacks. Where other people would quite you will find that because of your clear vision you will now have the strength to keep going no matter what. Your vision will be that powerful for you.
Start your internet business with a solid foundation by preparing your mind for success with a clear vision. Get that vision down on paper and read it over daily. You need to get very specific, ask yourself questions such as, what does success look like for me? How does it make me feel? What do I want to have in my life? What do I want to experience? Once you put your vision on paper keep going back to it and you can expand on it and add more details as you go.
Now that you have a foundation upon which to work, the next step is to lay out your goals. Through goals you will be able to see the progressive fulfillment of your vision. A beautiful way to end this chapter is with a quote by Napoleon Hill.
