How to use affirmations to achieve your highest potentialEvery day life comes filled with numerous demands from other people and obligations, details that must be organized and prioritized, with distractions popping up here and there through out the day. Life can be fast paced and hectic at the best of times.
It is no wonder that we can feel frazzled and unfulfilled. If you have ever felt like your life is on a tread mill, its ticking by and your not getting any closer to realizing your big dreams and long term goals then it is time to take charge and change things for yourself.
This is where many people get stuck when it comes to creating the life they really want, making their dreams a reality. They simply think wrong. When you look at the reality of your life right now, do you know that what is going on in your life today, exactly where you are right now, how much money is in your bank account, the car you are driving, the kind of people who are in your life and the list goes on. Everything exists the way it does in your life right now because of thoughts and beliefs that you have chosen up to this very point.
The law of attraction is a force that is at work this very moment for you and I. Much has been written on this law, so there is no need to go on too much here other than a basic over view. The over all concept is that what we think about is what we attract into our lives.
This thought may be really hard to swallow if you see a lot of caose or bad negative things going on for you. It’s a difficult thing to step up and take responsibility for a mess, no one wants to believe they themselves attracted poverty, sickness, bad relationships, failure, or whatever it is that that’s going on in your life that you don’t like.
It is much easier to think that other people, or circumstances, are at fault for the things going wrong. When you do that you are giving your power away, you are letting other people or things control your life and that is unacceptable. You take back your power when you start taking 100% responsibility for your life.
We run thousands and thousands of thoughts through our minds on a daily basis. This self talk is what is creating our lives for us. It is critical that we take the time to listen to what is going on in our heads, what are we saying. If you find that you run a lot of negative thoughts such as I can’t do this or that, I’ve never been successful before, I never have enough money, life is a struggle, it’s hard to reach my goals, no one believes in me, I always give up, it is these negative disempowering thoughts that are keeping you down, keeping you from reaching your highest potential.
So lets start focusing on exactly how you can change anything you want to change about your life. When you change the way you think you then start to change what you believe and when what you believe starts to change what you feel changes too, and before you know it your reality in the material world comes into line with your new thoughts.
The master key that you are going to use to unlock your full potential and take you from where you are right now to where you want to be is affirmations. After all you are a master at using them right now. Just think again of your thought patterns that you have been running through your mind every day of your life. Many of the thoughts you think over and over are nothing more than affirmations or statements that you have chosen to repeat to yourself until you believe them and live them.
Our brains learn best through repition just think of a song that you may have sung along with on the radio over and over again when you were a kid. Years later you hear that song again and you know it, you never forgot it because you had repeated it enough times years earlier.
Did you know that you were likely told 'NO' over 100,000 times before you turned 18 years old? It takes thousands of positives to erase the effects of negative experiences.
Lets jump into a few positive affirmations to get you started on the path to saying yes to yourself and to your life. Start with a few affirmations to renew your sense of motivation in moving toward your big goals and your dreams. Get a note book out or some index cards and write down some of the following affirmations.
- I am accomplishing great things in my life
- I can overcome any setbacks or obstacles as I reach my goals
- It is easy for me to find solutions
- I keep going until I succeed
- My time is valuable and I never waste it on things of no importance
- I am easily living my dreams
- When people criticise me I just let it go
- I have complete confidence in my abilities
- My goals are in front of me and they are as good as done
- Fear and worry are in the past
- I always expect to see myself succeed
- I learn from my mistakes and then let them go
- I love challenges and seek them out
- I have the strength to say no when I should
- My inner self talk is always positive and encouraging
- I know and believe that I deserve the best in life
- I easily finish everything I start
- I always deal with and confront my problems immediately
- I love and accept myself
- I can deal with and handle multiple tasks with ease
- Every day I grow into a more and more confident person
- Other people like being around me and want to help me reach my goals
- Whatever job needs to be done I do it on time
- I can see myself succeeding even before I begin the task
- All thoughts of failure have disappeared
- I am a powerful person with unlimited potential
The key is to repeat these affirmations on a daily basis, throughout the day until you start to believe them and they override any old disempowering negative thoughts and beliefs.
The above list is a very short list. You now have a good idea of how powerful affirmations can be and how effective an exercise this is to add to your daily routine. Go ahead and be creative and make up your own affirmations and keep your list going.
You can find affirmations everywhere these days in books, on the net at self help websites. Get your notebook out and turn it into your personal positive affirmation book. Start writing down every affirmation you come across that you want to embed into your mind, go over them daily write them out over and over. Remember use repetition and things will start to stick you will believe what you think. This little bit of effort can change your life. Live your dreams and experience your full potential by harnessing the power of using positive affirmations.
